Aum (frequently shortened to Om) is the fundamental background sound of the universe. In yoga Aum is the roar of Shiva that manifested as the Big Bang and creation of the entire universe.
In this week’s session we engaged in sadhana, disciplined spiritual work, following my recent recommitment to intense daily practices.
- AUM – 54 repetitions of AUM (108 would be better), concentrating on the vibrations beginning in the belly and travelling up to the face as the sound moves from ‘ahhh’, to ‘oooooh’, to ‘mmmmm’.
- 61 Point Shavayatra – we went through the 61 points together, focusing on each point, bringing our breath to each point, imagining a white light traveling with our focus.
