May 4 – Let it Go

This week’s meditation comes from a number of stories of difficulties handling changes happening in our life situations. Have you recently struggled with some issue in your life, perhaps something confusing or frustrating?

Just yesterday I dropped my last tie to a business endeavor that defined part of who I was. It was a part of the story my ego told of who I was in the world. It definitely would have been a part of describing me in professional or political or cultural terms. But not now. Now it’s just some colorful stories that happened in some other time, it’s not a part of who I am any longer, it’s not a part of my identity.

It feels lighter not to have that assigned role to play. Maybe I can move closer to just being.

So this week’s meditation will look to resolve any tensions around change, by practices that help us loosen our grip on old identities that no longer serve us. Through the meditation practice we’ll work to reduce our resistance and increase acceptance of the ebbs and flows of life’s everchanging patterns.

Specifics TBD … likely mantra chanting. AUM chants have been powerful lately.
